VixNet celebrated Mandela Day this year in a heart warming way.
As winter continues to impact on the lives of those without housing, heating or food, the VixNet team has decided to participate in the Madiba celebrations by bringing comfort and warmth to the young and vulnerable by providing 67 blankets to 2 Salvation Army branches.
The communities that benefitted from the blanket drive are the Bonteheuwel Salvation Army (Western Cape) and Soweto Salvation Army (Gauteng)
The blankets were distributed on the 18th of July 2013, as part of the nationawide Madiba Day initiative to commit 67 minutes of community service.
Business Development Manager of VixNet, Clinton Lemmer says; “Our winters are mild for those who are fortunate and indoors but for some it is a season of misery and despair, especially children in rural areas. It was amazing to see the little faces light up for something as simple as a warm blanket. We urge all South Africans to get ahead and do your bit for Mandela Day and your 67 minutes of community service.”
